Cambridge. MIT Press. 1984. Staple-bound magazine w. typographic cover. Book Condition: Fine, minor shelf wear. 32pp. (ill. in color & b/w).

Design Quarterly began as Everyday Art Quarterly, published by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis starting in 1946. The editorial focus aimed to bring modern design to the masses through thoughtful examination of household objects and their designers. This issue designed by guest designer and editorial subject, Paul Rand. The content of this issue is a thoughtful pre-publication abridgement of Rand’s A Designer’s Art from 1985, which was itself an updating of his 1947 Thoughts on Design.
